Hanger 18 is one!

Not with the universe, but in years. Hanger 18, shmuFM's resident heavy metal show turns one this Saturday 29th March.  Listeners can expect to hear some very special shout outs and birthday greeting from bands, along with a few exclusive bits of airplay.

The show has been broadcast on shmuFM every Saturday, with no repeats since March 2013 and has attracted listeners from over 50 countries to the shmu airwaves.  Presenter Brian Webb has had an impressive list of guest bands on for interviews including Newport born alternative metal outfit Skindred, hard rockers Heaven's Basement, who have toured extensively with a myriad of artists from the metal hall of fame and up and coming  punk rockers Fighting Fiction, giving the show a balance of well-aged classics and great new music.

As well as bringing you the best in heavy metal, the show has been instrumental in bringing gigs to their fan bases in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.  The Sea, reggae rockers who have enjoyed waves of success since they formed in 2007 were interviewed by Brian on the show.  The group were so overwhelmed by the huge fan base in the city; they made the decision to add an Aberdeen date to their tour.  The Sea will play Drummonds on July 4th this summer.

So turn up the volume to extra loud on Saturday from 9pm, give your eardrums something worth listening to and celebrate with Hangar 18's birthday special.  You can listen live on shmuFM 99.8 or online here.
