What is the Aberdeen BFI Academy

Building on the success of our previous BFI Academies, Station House Media Unit [shmu] is working in partnership with the British Film Institute and North East Scotland College to deliver Aberdeen’s third BFI Film Academy course.  The prestigious course is targeted at young people (16-19 years) who have a passion for film-making and are interested in developing the skills that will help them work towards a career in the industry.

The 12-week course, made possibly with investment of just under £16,000 from the BFI, will run weekly from 26th October 2016 to early March 2017. It will include masterclasses from a range of industry professionals and culminate in the production of two short films.

The deadline for applying for our next course is 14th October 2016.
