Last few journalism training places

We still have a few places left on our Magazine Journalism Training Course here at shmu, so if you live in one of the city's regeneration areas and would like to write for your community magazine, you can apply to take our free 6-week course.
Designed for those living or working in Cummings Park, Mastrick, Middlefield, Northfield, Seaton, Tillydrone, Torry or Woodside, the course takes you through all the skills you'll need to become a magazine journalist.
Previous experience of writing or journalism is not required as the course is for all ability levels, so if you'd like to learn new skills, meet new people and become more involved in your local community, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
To apply for a place, just contact Denise on 01224 515013 or email her on denise@shmu.org.uk and she can give you all the information you need.
Hurry though, as the next 6-week block starts on Wednesday the 22nd of January and places are limited.
We're looking for those who take part in the course to become regular contributors to their local magazine. The seven publications are Cumming North, Mastrick Matters, Middlefield Mirror, Seaton Scene, Tilly Tattle, Torry's Vision and the Woodside Free Press. We'll also be encouraging those taking the course to attend the regular editorial meetings for their magazine.
The course is delivered thanks to backing from the Fairer Scotland Fund.
