Volunteers attend festive tea party
Our shmu volunteers were treated to a special thank you at the shmu ‘end of year tea party’. The event took place at the Tillydrone Youth Project (TYP) on Monday 9th December from 6.30-8pm. The tea party was held to acknowledge the hard work everyone has put in over the course of 2013 and to celebrate another highly successful year for shmu.
The informal affair is traditionally a shmuPRESS event, designed as a show of appreciation to all of our editorial teams involved in creating the 21 editions of our community magazines in the seven regeneration areas of Aberdeen throughout the year. For 2013, it was decided to invite all the volunteers from every strand of shmu, including shmuSOUND, shmuTRAIN, shmuFM and shmuTV. Board members and shmu staff were also invited to come and enjoy a cuppa with a mince pie or a cake.
The Youth Radio Project (YRP) Christmas party also took place at the same time, in the back room of TYP and our young radio enthusiasts danced the night away with a disco and refreshments. All the current members of Youth TV were also asked to join in the festivities. Our volunteers received certificates of their achievements at the gathering. Both events went well and a grand time was had by everyone.
