Band of the Week: Dave Angus

Our featured artist this week on shmuFM is Dave Angus! You can hear him live on the Band of the Week Show on Monday the 12th of October from 8-10pm. Tune in to hear what Dave does, what he's getting up to, and what you can look forward to from the one and only Dave Angus.

Dave Angus is a local alt-rock singer-songwriter who has been writing and playing music for 5 years, after playing the bass first in a band called The Takeaways. He plays open mics regularly every week and gets gigs around Aberdeen supporting bands across the genres. Previously, he was in a grunge/metal band called Before Cavemen which helped him progress towards more intricate songwriting, which you can hear reflected in his solo stuff.

He incorporates elements of songs he likes in his own music – if he hears a song that he really likes, regardless of genre, he’ll be inspired to write something.  He recently released his acoustic album titled Greetings, and is writing more songs for his next album. Dave also performs impromptu sets all over Aberdeen, and claims that the best part about busking is that “whether people throw £20s or kebabs, it’s still feedback!”
