Band of the Week: Dylan Fowlie

Local singer-songwriter Dylan Fowlie on shmuFM

This week on the Band of the Week Show, we're delighted to welcome local singer-songwriter Dylan Fowlie! Tune in to the show live on shmuFM from 8-10pm every Monday - alternatively, you can hear it online at, or you can catch the repeat on Friday at midnight.

On the show, you'll hear some of Dylan's latest tracks, a live set, the music he listens to, and much more as he's interviewed by Band of the Week presenter Jaimi about what he's been up to and what's coming up.

Dylan Fowlie is a local singer-songwriter. At 19 years old, he’s been playing acoustically for around 5 years and singing for about 4! He was firstly inspired by solo acoustic players, most recognisably the ones on Candyrat Records: Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour and Don Ross to name a few. His roots definitely lie in heavy metal and hard rock though - singers like Myles Kennedy, Bruce Dickinson and Devin Townsend are huge influences.

He describes his own music as “very mismatched” - still trying to find himself a little, he says! If you like what you hear, his music is going strong on his Soundcloud, with both covers and originals - treat yourself to a listen! He hopes to have an actual album, or at least a solid, well-polished EP out by the end of the year.

You can hear any of Dylan's tracks on any of our live shows by getting in contact with the studio on 01224 483413, by texting 60300 (type SHMU, leave a space and then your message) or by emailing

The Band Of The Week Show is repeated every Friday at midnight until 2am on 99.8FM, and you can listen to the show here on our website using the live stream or Listen Again feature.
