Band of the Week: Melodie Fraser Band
This week we've got the incredibly talented Melodie Fraser Band as our shmuFM Band of the Week. You'll be able to hear Melodie live on the show on Monday the 3rd of March from 8-10pm.
The Melodie Fraser Band is a Latin/jazz quintet, formed in the summer of last year after a successful strategy by Melodie to recruit the most accomplished and creative professional musicians in town for a jazz and samba project - luring them to her house with the promise of homemade soup and cake!
The Melodie Fraser Band sounds like a dictatorship, when it’s actually a collective, with all members having creative input. The music that they’ve recorded so far shows the MFB at the start of their journey - the band has developed considerably since its inception and they are now bringing in even more influences, from Latin and jazz to funk and reggae.
