This week's featured artist is local jazz singer Cindy Douglas.

Cindy Douglas grew up surrounded by Gaelic and traditional Scottish music. Wherever she finds inspiration, the constant factors in her musical taste are rhythm and emotion - the heart of jazz. Her style has been described as “jazz with a smile on its face”.

In 2012, Cindy released her first album - My New Jive. Always open to new musical experiences, Cindy is constantly working on ideas for songs. The journey that she began with My New Jive looks set to continue as she takes in more inspiration for what Jazz Journal - in reviewing Cindy’s debut - acknowledged as her “creative, engaging and conversational” style.
