shmuFM Band of the Week: Suburban Saints

Indie-popsters return for another Band of the Week appearance

This week's shmuFM Band of the Week is Suburban Saints. They appeared live on the show from 8-10pm on the 16th of December, with host Jaimi Ray.

Suburban Saints are a 4-piece indie/pop band based in Aberdeen. The band’s aim is to write music which has a lively, energetic and upbeat feel to it. Saltire Sounds described them as the most exciting new band in Aberdeen.

Formed in early 2010, they combine energetic pop and a little rougher indie rock to create their own brand of music. The current line-up came together in September of 2011. The band recently recorded their debut EP which is entitled “Capital” - the EP was recorded at 45-a-Side recordings with Bruce Rintoul, who has worked with bands such as Twin Atlantic.

Suburban Saints have completed recording of their debut album, and it should be released and in your hands and ears before Christmas. Here's something seasonal they've just recorded, as well as a live performance of one of their own tracks from their show - which you can listen back to here. Enjoy!
