One Man, Two Guvnors - Plenty of Laughs

Opening night of One Man, Two Guvnors at His Majesty's Theatre

I had no idea what to expect on receiving a last minute phone call asking to me to attend a performance of One Man, Two Guvnors. The show was a roaring success with laugh a minute performances from all involved.

Before the play even started we were treated to the easy on the eye, musical talents of The Craze who performed songs by Grant Olding. The band, along with other actors from the show, kept the audience entertained with songs and music during the speedy set changes.

Gavin Spokes stole the show with his depiction of loveable fool, Francis Henshall - I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when he dragged a poor, unsuspecting audience member up on the stage to take part in his dinner sketch.

One Man, Two Guvnors is a fantastic British comedy which follows Francis Henshall hilariously trying to stop his two guvnors from meeting.

The show is touring the UK and is at His Majesty's Theatre until Saturday the 18th of October. Tickets are available online at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty's Theatre.

This production is based on Richard Bean's version of Carlo Goldoni's Italian comedy, The Servant of Two Masters.
