Avenue Q visits The Culture Show

Last call for spoken word recordings

As many of you will have seen on the website, we recently launched a ground-breaking new free spoken word project. 

We have been using our state-of-the-art recording facilities at the Tilly Youth Project to record a series of original 5-minute pieces, including poetry, drama and comedy.

shmuTRAIN's newest recruit

Due to the success of shmuTRAIN's work in schools around the city and our employability courses at Station House and TYP, we had to take on extra staff to take the pressure off our hardworking shmuTRAIN duo, Brian Webb and Michelle Trail. The bar was set very high to make the two into a trio, and we had some great applicants, but unfortunately, we were only allowed to pick one.

shmuTRAIN Case Study

We first started working with Aaron at the beginning of 2012 on our Early Interventions programme in Torry Academy. Aaron then joined our Positive Transitions course starting in January 2013.

YRP Special Report on Holocaust Memorial Day

Young presenters from Station House Media Unit (shmu) aired a special report on shmuFM to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.  Megan Rollo (16) and Yvannah Gonzalez (16) visited Auschwitz as part of a school project and decided to make a special feature from their experiences on their journey.

Tilly Tattle hot off the press

Residents of Tillydrone should be keeping an eye on their letterboxes, as the new shiny Spring edition of Tilly Tattle is being delivered very soon. In this issue, our front cover has a delivery of its own, telling the astonishing story of how a baby was born in the Tillydrone Community Flat and a member of staff helped to deliver it.

One of shmu’s Youth Radio Project (YRP) team, Emily Howie has turned her hand to painting, as well as producing and presenting YRP shows. Emily is 14 and has been working with shmu since August last year.
