SHMU Youth Media Taster sessions will be taking place at shmu between 20th-24th October where young people of academy age will get the opportunity to try radio presenting, film making, music production and magazine production/journalism.

Young People at the Controls for Latest Referendum Debate

shmuFM's Youth Radio Project have held a live debate focusing on the Scottish Independence Referendum. On Saturday the 13th of September members of the Youth Radio Project interviewed Councillors David Cameron and Barney Crockett to discuss the key aspects of the Scottish Independence Referendum.

Funding boost for shmu Youth Media Project

The Youth Media Project from Station House Media Unit (shmu) has gained a funding boost of almost PS50,000 from the Big Lottery young start fund. The project, due to begin in late July will provide creative opportunities for young people aged 12-19 to learn about all aspects of the production of regular live radio and TV broadcasts.

Tilly Gala 2014

Our staff members and Youth Media Team (YMT) members went to the Tillydrone Gala on the 16th of August 2014. Everyone had great time there were different stalls that sold fruit, cakes, ice-cream, jewellery etc.

Budding Talent at Lemon Tree

On the 2nd of August 2014, our Youth Media Team went to see APA Theatre and American Conservative Theatre preform at the Lemon Tree.

The first half of the show was about Hansel and Gretel played by APA Youth Theatre (Scotland) , which was about two young children living with their poor parents. The parents leave them and off they walk off.
