57 North Presents: Virtues

Aberdeen rock band Virtues played their first gig in November 2019.

They’ve since released an EP ‘You're Alive’ and are due to support Pleasure Heads at The Cellar in Aberdeen on Friday 20th March.

57 North Presents: Karma for Vandals

Aberdeen-based instrumental post-rockers Karma for Vandals formed in 2017.

They celebrate the release of their forthcoming EP ‘Voa’ with a gig at Aberdeen’s Blue Lamp on Sunday 8th March, with support from Seas, Starry and Bonnie Mutt.

Aberdeen indie-rockers Watchfires have decided to call it a day after seven years, an EP, two albums and multiple gigs.

They released their final song 'Another Us' in January and play a farewell show at The Lemon Tree on Saturday 29th February with support from Ghostwriter and Forest Fires.

57 North Presents: Rachael Bisset

Rachael Bisset is a singer-songwriter from Aberdeen.

She performed at Aberdeen's Hogmanay Celebrations in 2018 and supported Barns Courtney at The Tunnels as part of his UK tour.

Rachael released her debut single ‘Idle Threat’ in December 2019, followed by an EP in January 2020.

Local indie outfit Audiokicks return to the show, complete with a new line-up.

Now a four-piece consisting of Gavin Baxter (guitar/vocals), Iain Jamieson (vocals/guitar), Jamie Robson (drums) and Mathilde Fongen (bass/vocals), they release new single ‘Stuck on Repeat’ on 9th February.

Visit to shmu

Earlier this week shmu hosted a community group from Dundee on a visit to find out more about a variety of different community projects in Aberdeen.

Members of Douglas Health Issues in the Community visited the newly launched Best Start Pantry at CFINE, Tillydrone Community Campus, Donside Hydro and then visited shmu's newly refurbished premises in Woodside.

End of year celebration and AGM 2019

shmu's end of year celebration and Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 between 6pm-8pm in shmu HQ on Station Road, Woodside, Aberdeen.

It's a great opportunity for all our volunteers, partners and staff to come along and hear about what has been happening over the last year and what our plans are for the future.
